GE Labelling - Government Adamant To Pass Bills C-51 & C-52

Notice the exasperation in Ron Doering's voice when I pointed the inconsistency of private members, (peoples) Bill C-517 which was roundly defeated vs the that of the government's (Harper's) own labelling policy. As usual he skated around the issue. But did not hesitate to support his government cronies, given that he is their consultant including regulations on biotechnology labeling.... But when it came to Bills C-51 & C-52 he let me know in no in no uncertain term on who is running the show. Certainly not the people! More proof as if more was in needed on the contention:
"...who actually makes our laws and regulations such as the NAFTA, the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) and whole host of others? Why these suddenly appear from thin air? Certainly the constituents don't generally make them! More often than not, there is no public consultation, input or pressure. These laws and regulations are mostly done in secrecy. Why the secrecy if the public is being represented for some perceived benefit? These laws and regulations are primarily made by private interests. These then are then the real law makers - more on this in another post... The only say we the constituents occasionally get is via the much maligned private member's bills and such which by and large are very difficult to pass even though this is the most democratic process. Occasionally, in this rigged Democracy, a concern germane to the constituents slips through the crack when a politician actually does his/her fiduciary duty."

Occasionally they throw in a crumb or two, as in this case, to create the perception of listening to the people. Of course this keeps the wheels well greased so their deceptions can continue.
It is abundantly clear that there is nothing democratic about our so called democracy which has simply become a ruse to maintain the status quo.
We are well past the time to make it our business to expose all who betray public trust. To that end I have listed all MPs who voted against Bill-517 and feel we should to let them know to our intention to campaign against them.

The Prime Minister says tell it like it is. If the can of pears is made in Canada then the label will say so. But if the pineapple is grown in Guatamala then it can no longer have a label that says "product of Canada".

To Tony ClementThis is a truly good sales pitch to convince people in high places that you are trying to appease those of us who use the things that keep us healthy....I often wondered when the gov't was going to make the DIN= drug identification number, of use to take away the rights of Canadians of there uses with this DIN, since these are on all vitamins herbals and supplements of all sorts and since you are redefining the definitions from a health benefits to therapeutic in bill C-51....it is only a matter of time before you would try and strip us of our rights in this area....this is an affront on peoples human rights....religious rights....and cultural rights...and you sir are in violation on all of these under the charter of rights and it appears to me that this can be cause for legal litigation to the gov't in direct violation on this issue of choice...not based on your definition of therapeutic...but based on our choice on what really defines a heath benefit. It appears to me that somewhere, you sir have lost your way on what is a defining of health...how is it that aspirins and lipitor , and ibuprofen and tylenol which have so many side effects and causes more issues and even death has not been removed from the market place, or has even been put into storage for an indefinite time frame and made to pay indefintie cost to the drug companies for these toxic drugs...and yet you would violate people's personal rights by going into there homes without cause and to take away a potential health benefit herb or supplement and possibly lock them away for using these things...or even go into a health food store and to take a product without paying for it and to potentially take away an inventory at your discretion and cause an undo cost to the proprietor to keep in storage the inventory.... Foods will do what this definition implies here and it appears to me you are trying desperately to regulate our dietary intake ....when did the gov't of Canada become so proficient as to attain this type of god hood? seems to me better time and money can be spent on advancing our culture in infrastructure and education rather then causing distractions and alarm...here is your definition;
(a) an investigation in respect of a therapeutic product for use in human beings that involves human subjects and that is intended to discover or verify the therapeutic product's clinical, pharmacological or pharmacodynamic effects, to identify adverse events in respect of the therapeutic product, to study the absorption, distribution, metabolism or excretion of the therapeutic product or to ascertain its safety or efficacy, or
therapeutic product" means(a) a drug,
(b) a device,
(c) cells, tissues or organs that are distributed or represented for use in
(i) the diagnosis, treatment, mitigation or prevention of a disease, disorder or abnormal physical state, or its symptoms, in human beings or animals, or
(ii) restoring, correcting or modifying the body structure of human beings or animals or the functioning of parts of the bodies of human beings or animals, or
(d) a combination of two or more of the things referred to in paragraphs (a) to (c);
So this means that a lemon or an onion would be removed from us because it has therapeutic properties????
Or even cherries because they can stop a migraine??? and that they can increase melatonin levels naturally correcting sleep imbalances??
Or even bay leaf because it has a high trelox levels of water soluble vitamin E which the orac values are based on???"device" means an article, instrument, apparatus or contrivance — including a component, part or accessory of one — that is manufactured, sold or represented for use in
(a) the diagnosis, treatment, mitigation or prevention of a disease, disorder or abnormal physical state, or its symptoms, in human beings or animals,
(b) restoring, correcting or modifying the body structure of human beings or animals or the functioning of parts of the bodies of human beings or animals,
(c) the diagnosis of pregnancy in human beings or animals,
(d) the care of human beings or animals during pregnancy or at or after the birth of the offspring, including care of the offspring, or
This reflects all the things that a human being would consume or an animal for that matter.....
I hope you reconsiderone final note I would like to know how you voted on bill C-517…
were you In favour of labeling GMO and GE foods so that there can be actual accountability of illness related to the foods that are genetically altered?
I also would like to know the 156 members of parliament who refused to vote on this labeling…so we can refuse them the next term when they are applying for a job ..IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE…so we the public can replace them with worthier and more qualified personnel..

Dear......I just recieved the info that you VOTED In favour of not LABELING GMO or GE on "CANADIAN FOODS"!!!!!!!
This sir is an outrage and the emails are flying as we speak ....maybe the next time one of your family members gets ill due to the GMO or GE they have eaten that has been infected with the mosiac virus to create the GE or GMO food and you rush them to emergency as a result of a respiratory infection or a potenial stomach or intestinal issue and the Doctors misdiagnose the condition d ue to lack of accountability and traceability as a result of your Vote....I hope then you begin to understand the consternation of the citizens in this "Country"Did you know Sir that even China has labeling of GMO and GE foods in there country?? did you know that most of the free world, excluding CANADA, the USA and Argentina, have labeled there franken foods....you're an NDP??? another betrayer of the working class I see first Bob Rae, and now another MP who is NDP....you didn't do the farmers any favours either, they are now exposed to the xenoestrogens and the round up toxins causing cancers throughout , and you didn't even protect them as well...You are a discredit to the working class of this county and this email is going to be blanketed throughout.....I would like to know your stance as well on bill C-51 and C-52? this would be interesting.......the borders within this country will know you betrayed us and the citizens of this county which you think are sleeping will be roused and we will see how the EI line feels for you the next election...
