Health System Persecutes Alternatives - Deregistering Medical Doctors
The pharmaceutically dominated health system in the US and other western countries is bankrupting whole economies with the costs of iatrogenic (doctor-induced) illness and exaggerated prices for pharmaceutical remedies. Yet, it is practitioners proposing alternatives to this failing system that are being attacked - such as biological dentist Rick Vander Heyden in Wisconsin, who has been charged with promoting his practice of "mercury free" dentistry.
Honestly, many people do prefer not to put a poisonous substance in their mouths, but for the guardians of "medical orthodoxy", to say that you are refusing to use their failing "orthodox" treatment methods is tantamount to charlatanery.
Tim Bolen, who has been watching the antics of the US "Quackbusters" explains how the US health system is irredeemably sick and how it holds on to power tooth and claw - fighting progress in medicine in its own way.
This is happening all over the world. While Tim Bolen's example is from the US, we can also look to Australia and see what Eve Hillary says about an Australian doctor being de-registered after helping a cancer patient avoid some of the more toxic and de-humanizing treatments proposed by mainstream medicine.
We can also look to Europe, where Ryke Geerd Hamer, a German medical doctor was de-registered after he proposed a completely different view on cancer eziology and treatment. Hamer has been sentenced in France for "maligning mainstream medicine" and for "promoting his alternative". He was recently arrested in Spain, where he has been residing for the last several years, on request of a French court, transmitted through Interpol.
These are grave violations, not only of the professional independence of medical doctors, but also of our freedom to choose what treatments we think are best for us, upon the information available. The British have a name for it: Nanny State.

Everybody knows that the US MEDICARE System will go belly-up in the year 2011. It's going to be, at that point, so costly that the United States simply won't be able to afford it anymore. Foreign owned "Big Pharma" is bleeding us to death.
American corporations, right this moment, are cutting back their health care offerings. No one can afford the skyrocketing costs. Foreign owned "Big Pharma" is bleeding us to death.
Health Insurance companies are desperately trying to reduce provider expenditure - and because of that, Americans are being offered a poorer, and poorer, quality of health care. Everything NEW is being banned. Foreign owned "Big Pharma" is bleeding us to death.
But, more shocking, is that the system itself is a deadly rip-off of gigantic proportion. A new study, a compilation of most recent studies, called "Death by Medicine," says:
"It is evident that the American medical system is the leading cause of death and injury in the United States. The total number of iatrogenic deaths shown ... is 783,936. The 2001 heart disease annual death rate is 699,697; the annual cancer death rate, 553,251."
The number of people having in-hospital, adverse drug reactions (ADR) to prescribed medicine is 2.2 million. Dr. Richard Besser, of the CDC, in 1995, said the number of unnecessary antibiotics prescribed annually for viral infections was 20 million. Dr. Besser, in 2003, now refers to tens of millions of unnecessary antibiotics.
The number of unnecessary medical and surgical procedures performed annually is 7.5 million. The number of people exposed to unnecessary hospitalization annually is 8.9 million."
And that's only the "deaths." The Lazarou study on Hospital ADR also showed that, besides the 106,000 "deaths," twenty times that number of people had health problems caused by that same hospital Adverse Drug Reaction. There were an additional 2,200,000 health problems caused by Adverse Drug Reaction to drugs in hospitals. It would be reasonable to assume, then, that that factor of twenty times the number of deaths could be applied to all of the death statistics - meaning that in addition to the total 783,936 deaths there were 15,678,720 serious health problems caused by the American Medical System.
Shocked? It gets worse... Wait until you read how slovenly our system actually operates.

Wisconsin: The Vander Heyden Case...
A couple days ago I wrote an article called "The American Medical System is Broken..." The material for it, the original study called "Death by Medicine," sat on the corner of my desk for months. The material was so shocking, even for a skeptic of the medical system like me, that I simply needed to digest it. I needed to think about what it all meant - for the study makes it crystal clear that organized medicine is the number one killer of Americans.
And number two, and number three...
"Facts" are undeniable. They speak louder than simple words. The old adage "actions speak louder than words," is never more true, than in this indictment of the American Health Care System.
In legal jargon, what has happened with this report, is that the elusive, movable, medical definition of "Standard of Care," has been set in concrete - with facts. Simply, it is the "Standard of Care" in the United States to allow 115,000 American citizens to die, within the system, of "bedsores" every year. It is the "Standard of Care" in the United States to allow 108,800 American citizens to die, within the system, of "malnutrition" every year. It is the "Standard of Care" in the United States to allow 199,000 American citizens to die, within the system, of "outpatient adverse reaction to drugs" every year. It is the "Standard of Care" in the United States to allow 88,000 American citizens to die, within the system, of "infection" every year.
And so on...
How can I define the information in this comprehensive report (Death by Medicine) as the definition of "Standard of Care?" For four reasons: (1) These people all died within the system. These weren't people without access to medical care. These people had access to the American Medical System - and THAT is what killed them. (2) The problems described in the report range over many, many years. (3) The organized medical establishment has been aware of these issues for as many years. (4) Organized medicine has chosen to do NOTHING about the problems - therefore, they have accepted these problems as normal, and acceptable. Hence, the facts represented in "Death by Medicine" are, in fact, organized medicine's recognized "Standard of Care."
What does THIS definition of "Standard of Care" mean to "alternative" practitioners?
Everything...
Who, in their right mind would tell their patients that "I operate my practice according to acceptable 'Standard of Care' guidelines. I let 105,000 of my patients die of 'bedsores' every year..."
"Alternative" practitioners, meaning those offering "alternatives" to the deadly American Medical System, should, from this moment on declare loudly "I practice OUTSIDE of the accepted "Standard of Care.' None of my patients have adverse drug reactions, none of them die of malnutrition, none of them die from infections gotten from a hospital, none of my patients get unnecessary surgery or unnecessary procedures, and my patients have no idea what bedsores look like - they're all out playing golf."
Which Brings Me to Rick Vander Heyden's Case in Wisconsin...
This is the first case, of an "alternative" practitioner, brought under, and reviewed by, the NEW management team under Wisconsin Department of Regulation & Licensing (DRL) Secretary Donsia Strong Hill. Strong Hill, you will remember, has declared publicly that "alternative practitioners will not be singled out...". Australian Doctor Deregistered after Helping Cancer Patient
Doctors around the world are being deregistered in droves by their respective medical boards for doing nothing more than helping their patients with nutritional and naturally based treatments.
Recent de-registrants include notable pioneers in natural treatments including Dr. Durrant-Peatfield a UK doctor specializing in natural therapies for thyroid, adrenal and chronic fatigue conditions, and Dr. Serafina Corsello a respected holistic physician. Among those relentlessly harassed by their medical boards were: Dr. Revici, an internationally respected pioneer in the treatment of cancer by nutritional and natural means; Dr. Warren Levine, who founded the first Holistic Health Center in New York having helped thousands of patients during the nearly 30 years he was in practice; Dr. Nicholas Gonzales, also deregistered had been granted a sizeable sum by the National Cancer Institute to conduct testing on alternative cancer therapy when the Board‚s action pulled the plug on the research. The medical board of New Jersey deregistered Dr. Eric R. Braverman MD, clinician and author, after authorities noted his unique research and his success in treating serious conditions with holistic therapies.
In Australia Dr. Eckard Roehrich, was deregistered on 21 September 2004 after he gave testimony in court on behalf of a family whose 11 year old daughter was forced to have chemotherapy against her wishes and those of her parents. The child's treating oncologist at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle contacted the department of community services which instigated the forced treatment by way of a court order.
Dr. Roehrich, the family's primary physician practiced integrative medicine, a combination of orthodox, complementary and evidence-based alternative approaches to medicine. He had made several attempts to gain humanitarian concessions for the child who was incarcerated in the hospital without privileges such as a familiar diet, nutritional supplements, regular walks out doors and visits from friends. The hospital oncologist however, would not allow these concessions. On one occasion, when her parents‚ visiting hours were severely restricted by the welfare department, the girl tried to escape the hospital and was returned to the ward and put on 24 hour watch.
Not long after his court appearance on behalf of the child and her family, Dr. Roehrich began to receive letters from the New South Wales Medical Board. The Board notified him that its delegates intended entering the doctor's clinic to inspect his records and premises. When the doctor required the Board to provide him with a reason for its intended entry into his clinic without his consent, he was hauled up before a special committee. After a short deliberation the 3 member New South Wales Medical Board Committee revoked his licence to practice medicine on 21 September 2004. The Board allotted 3 days for Dr. Roehrich to wind up his practice leaving his over 1000 patients without medical care. The doctor's clinic was located in an area of acute doctor shortage. Many of his seriously ill patients were in the middle of treatments which had started to improve their health.
The doctor's deregistration has caused a community backlash against the Medical Board. Already hundreds of patients have contacted the doctor's clinic vowing their support for him.
The NSW Medical Board's action against Dr. Roehrich comes after its decision earlier in the year to clear four doctors who were investigated for poor practice after 14 deaths occurred at the Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals west of Sydney. According to a Sydney Morning Herald article on 23/1/04 the Medical Board cleared the doctors even before a special inquiry could complete its investigations into the deaths.
Dr. Roehrich maintains he was intensively targeted by the Medical Board shortly after he testified for the family that was besieged by the department of community services. He maintains when the welfare department forced the child to have chemotherapy, he felt it was his duty to help the family to reclaim their right to choose any valid treatment options for their child.
The Medical Board has not provided Dr. Roehrich with specific reasons for its suspension of his licence, although he has written to the Board and telephoned them to request this information.

Here some information about the arrest - at the hands of a French court and Interpol - of Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer in Spain:Dr. Hamer was arrested by the Spanish National Police on September 9 around 10 a.m., at his doorstep.
He was first taken to a jail in Malaga (Comisaria Central de la Policia Nacional, Plaza de Hazana). According to a policeman from Malaga, the order came through Interpol from France to the Spanish Police.
Dr. Hamer spent one night in Malaga and shared his prison cell with a homosexual by whom he was hassled continually.
The morning of September 10, he was taken to Madrid where he was obviously considered to be a dangerous offender, as he was locked into a cold room for 8 hours, left wearing only his underwear, and received nothing to eat.
At present, the conditions of his detention are better and he is being treated decently. Considering the circumstances, he is doing relatively well.
It has become known in the meantime that the court hearing in France, i.e. the appeal to the "Cour de Cassation" is by no means decided. According to his French lawyer, this could take another 2-3 years. Therefore, we are dealing here with a "preventive arrest" with the exclusive goal to extradite Dr. Hamer to France and to finally get him locked up in a psychiatric institution from where he may never leave again.
