The Selling of Suicide for Profit
...if we care about our children and their futures we must face the rather distasteful truth that all is not as it appears with the reigning proponents of mental health and "suicide screening."Company can sell supplement to mental health patients: judge
A vitamin and mineral supplement to help with mental problems, prohibited by the Health Canada bureaucracy, can be put back on sale in accordance with a recent court decision in Calgary provincial court. I have previously reported about the case of TrueHope vs. Health Canada. Anyone interested in the details of the court's decision can find a copy of the judgement, delivered on 28 July 2006, linked at the end of that article.Food Flavoring agent destroys lungs
Two food factory workers lost most of their lung capacity handling diacetyl, a food flavoring agent. The two weren't working in a chemical or pesticide plant. Nor in a weapons plant. They didn't metal-plate, fumigate, degrease, demolish, smelt or weld. They made, of all things, artificial food flavorings.
Harmless as that seems, two big labor unions that champion ironworkers and meat cutters are now fighting for the workers who whip up piña colada, butterscotch and other flavors that sell America's snack foods. Just last week, 40 job health experts joined the Teamsters and the United Food and Commercial Workers in urging the Bush administration to issue an emergency order restricting worker exposure to a widely used butter flavoring -- a chemical called diacetyl.
Drug trial victims face high cancer risk for trial volunteers
The unfortunate volunteers who took part in the clinical trial of the drug known as TGN 1412 last March have now learned that they face an increased risk of contracting cancers and auto-immune diseases. As such, whilst they may be entitled to between £2 million and £5 million each in compensation it would appear possible that some of them could potentially be dead before they get to receive it. Meanwhile the “business with disease” continues unabated.....WAR IS A RACKET
It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. It seems timely to remind ourselves of this and perhaps start to take some action - like maybe a boycott of the war mongering corporations?Might as well start somewhere. Perhaps Monsanto, the company that gave us Aspartame and that has for years been the major pusher of genetically altered foods would be a good beginning. Here is the Organic Consumers Association's Monsanto Action Page.
