The global pandemic of diabetes which is increasing each year, began with the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. The resulting global atmospheric pollution has resulted in a diabetes pandemic caused by hundreds of thousands of pounds of vaporized depleted uranium used in atomic and hydrogen bombs as "tamping", fission products from nuclear power plants, and the illegal use of depleted uranium radioactive poison gas weapons introduced to the battlefield by the US in 1991.
Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, and now Lebanon are now uninhabitable. Israel soon will be.
Depleted uranium is being used to carry out an illegal nuclear war against countries with mineral resources the British Economic Empire and US Economic Empire must control. The huge global increase in diabetes between 1996-97 is indicative of a global environmental event. Now we know why Rhodes Scholar President Clinton was grid bombing and carpet bombing in Iraq in the NO-FLY-ZONES for ten years. Grid bombing and carpet bombing is carried out for the sole purpose of terrain contamination.
Unfortunately, we, the citizens of the world, are now sitting together in the Auschwitz radioactive poison gas chamber which our atmosphere has been converted into by the "GLOBAL 2000" National Security Council policy paper written in 1979 for (David Rockefeller's protege) President Jimmy Carter by (David Rockefeller's protege) Henry Kissinger, (David Rockefeller's protege) Zbiegnew Brzezinski, General Alexander Haig, and Ed Muskie.

Diabetes and Depleted Uranium - Italian Embassy Cover up Continues
The US, Italian and Indian governments had no way of knowing about the planned international meeting about the diabetes and depleted uranium cause and effect link. The suspicion is that the University of California's Nuclear Weapons Labs and factories tapped Leuren Moret's calls; then, went through the US State Department or the Defense Department to the Italian government and the Indian government.

I guess the upside of these criminal activities is that the USA and the UK are able to utilise (Read squeeze the last dollar out) the toxic waste that is increasing daily. A waste that science does not know how to make safe.
Scattered around the net from Kosovo Lebanon Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq are images of the birth defects that follow the use of such weapons.
I think it is time for the people to take to the streets in greater numbers to demand accountability and real time necks on chopping blocks for these war crimes.
When dealing with victims .. what is the standard treatment protocol ?

Amazingly, there does not seem to be any treatment standard for those exposed to airborne particles of uranium resulting from the use of depleted uranium munitions.
The World Health Organization has this to say:
"There is no suitable treatment for highly exposed individuals that can be used to appreciably reduce the systemic content of depleted uranium when the time between exposure and treatment exceeds a few hours. Patients should be treated based on the symptoms observed."
The army only talks about depleted uranium fragments, and echoes the WHO's recommendation of generically "treating the symptoms":
"The short-term consequences of retained DU fragments do not justify an aggressive approach during the early treatment of wounds. Appropriate treatment of the wound with removal of any easily accessible fragments should be performed. Individuals who have been potentially exposed to DU by inhalation should not have any acute symptoms and should be treated only if injured."
So, the general drift seems to be - to hell with anyone exposed, there's really no danger. Don't know how long that head-in-the-sand approach will hold up.

Hi Sepp and all, Shocking article though we all knew this was true.
Selenium does protect, here's a definitive study, Vitamin C and other antioxidants help as well.
"A single dose of sodium selenite (0.5 mg Se/kg b.w.) was injected intraperitoneally into mice on day 9 of pregnancy, either 30 min or 2 h before 1.75 Gy whole body irradiation. Administration of selenite 2 h but not 30 min before irradiation resulted in a significant decrease in the number of malformed foetuses (p less than 0.005). The decrease in foetal malformations occurred proportionally for all the major malformations observed, i.e. short or kinked tail, rib and vertebral malformations, coloboma and deformation of retina and iris. In addition, selenium pretreatment also protected against radiation-induced retardation of the sternum of the foetus."

A friend recently wrote to ask if there were any papers confirming the statement of Leuren Moret of radiation causing diabetes:
While searching for information "side effects"+"depleted uranium"+"diabetes" I saw that you have posted an article by Leuren Moret. Have you seen any reference to the correlation between du and diabetes? I mean, have you seen any peer reviewed paper by Moret or anyone, any doctor, any scientist that conclusively demonstrates that radiation is responsible for diabetes? I am getting nowhere. I have been searching for even a single paper but find myself in a Leuren Moret loop. She has hypothesized that du might be a cause for the explosive growth of diabetes but I don't find any paper. Doctors quote her, and she quotes her hypothesis.
Asaf Durakovic has some oblique reference to it; nothing conclusive.
I'd really appreciate your response.
Even the Japanese data does not show any 'significant' indication of the correlation.

I have posted the Leuren Moret article, but no other paper or article that would confirm her hypothesis has come my way.
It could just be that - her idea. Which of course would put Leuren in doubt as an authority on what effects DU has on people. But ... there ARE some indications. See below, what I found:
I lived on the island of Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands from 1965 to 1970, seven years after the atomic bomb on the Islands. I was a developing child during those years, from age 5 to 10. I am now 43 years old. I am interested in any information you have on the children who were on the island during the 60s who were exposed to radiation and what the half-life of the radiation is. My three children are all Type 1 diabetics. There is no diabetes as far back genetically on either side of the family. I have recently been diagnosed with a very rare condition called adductor spasmodic dysphonia. None of these conditions are curable. The odds of this happening to one family is in the millions. Is there any information that links my development during those young years to damage that could result in these devastating diseases, particularly that of insulin-dependent diabetes?

Hiroshima and Nagasaki studies of non-cancer effects of exposure to ionizing radiation are either very poor or non-existent. I remember my frustration when I first looked for data on the relationship between exposure to radiation and adult onset diabetes. Diabetes among Hiroshima males had shown a linear trend with dose for causing death (Ref. 11). Since diabetes is not normally a first cause of death, one could well question the relationship of radiation with incidence rate of diabetes. When I located the research paper from the ABCC, I was astonished to find a bold statement that diabetes shows no relationship with radiation exposure in the early part of the paper. There is no supporting evidence for this statement. The remainder of the paper is devoted to a discussion of diabetes among A-bomb survivors with no further mention of or reporting of their doses. Reference is made to negative findings of atomic bomb research in order to discourage further research into the relationship between diabetes and radiation. Diabetes rates are extremely high in the nuclear fall out areas of the Pacific, downwind of the Nevada Test Site, and in areas of heavy fallout in the Arctic. However, no research has been done into the possible causal links with nuclear fallout.

This was on google, but the actual page did not come up (error) and there was no cached page. Strange, and it could be another pointer to a subtle suppression of data linking diabetes to radiation. Ingenta is a pharma company and they have many research articles on their site. This particular one seems to have been scrubbed.

I'm extremely interested in this subject as my father (with no known family history) became extremely ill while stationed in White Sands, NM, in the mid 1950s, was granted an honorable discharge, ended up with type 1 DM, and dying prematurely at 58-year-old due to brittle DM complications. If depleted uranium was used in the A-bomb and the first one was tested in White Sands . . . is there a connection? Did the US government slowly kill my father???

Yes Peggy, many people were exposed to atomic radiation in the 1950s from bomb tests in the US Mid West.
Whether the govt killed your father, you may have to do some digging. For sure what is valid for "depleted" uranium (U238 mainly) is also valid for the stuff used in the bombs (U235). Both are forms of uranium and both are radioactive. Particles lodging in lungs and other tissues can lead to long term damage and eventually death from constant production of free radicals and direct tissue damage.
